Recessed shelf light — see light, not see the lamp
The YD-2569 is the recessed shelf-light variant of the Mini series. It shares the same 4.8 mm LED channel rotated 30° from vertical as the YD-2567 and YD-2568 — but the body geometry is fundamentally different: an 11 mm bottom flange plus a 13 mm anti-glare baffle that drops into a 9 × 13 mm routed slot. The baffle is the defining feature: a 5 mm aluminium wall that extends below the 11 mm flange on the viewing side, mechanically shielding the LED from direct line of sight. The LED is hidden behind the baffle wall — only the grazing beam washing the back panel of the shelf, the cove wall, or the stair riser is visible.
This is the classic"see light, not see the lamp"design. Where a regular recessed profile like the YD-2566 shows a clear diffuser line or a thin LED strip through the diffuser, the YD-2569 with its baffle shows nothing — just a soft, pooled wash on the adjacent surface. The viewer standing under the shelf cannot tell where the light is coming from. This is the same dark-light / anti-glare principle used in museums, galleries, high-end kitchens, and architectural showcases (UGR < 19 territory).
The 30° angled internal channel is the same geometry as YD-2567 and YD-2568. With the baffle in place, the beam is forced to shoot diagonally away from the viewer — typically toward the back of the shelf, the back wall of a cove, or the front face of a stair riser. The combination of the 30° beam + the 13 mm baffle is what makes the effect work: the channel rotation alone wouldn't hide the LED, and the baffle alone wouldn't direct the beam. Together, they produce a clean, indirect wash with zero visible point source.
The YD-2569 uses the same triple optical configuration as the YD-2565 / YD-2566 / YD-2567 / YD-2568 / YD-2575 — PC diffuser, reflector cup + lens, or reflector cup + black cover. All three optical modes are 100 mm modular, so a single accessory range covers the entire Mini series, and the same dual LED source (flexible COB tape or CSP1208 rigid strip) applies. The PC diffuser mode is the most common choice for under-shelf, while the reflector cup + black cover mode gives the deepest anti-glare reading for gallery applications.

Two LED modes — pick the right one before ordering
The YD-2569 supports two LED sources that determine which optical accessory you can use. Flexible COB tape and CSP1208 rigid strip cannot be mixed on the same cup. Pick one mode before you spec accessories.

Ordering tip: for the deepest"see light, not see the lamp"effect, choose Mode B (rigid strip + reflector cup + black PC cover). The black cover matches the baffle's anti-glare logic and produces the lowest UGR reading. If you only need a soft line, Mode A (flexible COB + Frosted PC diffuser) is the lower-cost option.

Recessed installation — 9 × 13 mm routed slot
Route a 9 mm wide × 13 mm deep slot in the underside of the shelf (or stair tread, or cove soffit) using a wood router, laminate trimmer or CNC mill. The YD-2569 drops into the slot — the 11 mm bottom flange sits flush against the underside on both sides, covering the slot edge with 1 mm trim on each side. The 13 mm anti-glare baffle is fully inside the slot, hiding the LED from below. Optional metal Z-spring clips can be added for ceiling installations or any application where vibration or accidental contact might displace the profile.
