Mini profile with tool-free magnetic mounting

The YD-2565 is the second profile in Ofly's Mini series — a compact 7 × 8 mm aluminium channel designed for installations where speed and reversibility matter as much as the slim visual line. The 4.8 mm internal channel accepts the same narrow LED sources as the YD-2575 — from 3 mm to 4.7 mm wide flexible COB / SMD tape, plus the CSP1208 rigid LED strip used with the 100 mm modular optical accessories.

What sets the YD-2565 apart is the integrated N/S neodymium magnet strip. Housed in a dedicated lower cavity of the aluminium body, the magnet is thermally isolated from the LED channel above — heat from the LED still flows through the aluminium heatsink exactly as in any other profile, so LED lifetime is unaffected. The magnet snaps the profile directly onto any clean ferrous metal surface: steel cabinets, iron beams, tool boards, exhibition stands. No screws, no adhesive, no tools. A single person can mount or remove a 1 m section in seconds, which makes the YD-2565 ideal for rental, exhibition and seasonal display use.

On non-ferrous surfaces (aluminium, plasterboard, MDF), use the supplied plastic clips to fix the profile in surface-mount mode. Both mounting modes share the same profile and the same triple optical configuration — PC diffuser, reflector cup + lens, or reflector cup + black cover.

Two LED modes — pick the right one before ordering

The YD-2565 supports two LED sources that determine which optical accessory you can use. Flexible COB tape and CSP1208 rigid strip cannot be mixed on the same cup. Pick one mode before you spec accessories.

Mode A — PC diffuser

Ordering tip: if you spec accessories first, lock in the LED source at the same time. Quote the rigid strip count (× 100 mm segments) together with the cup + lens/cover count to avoid mismatched shipments.

Three optical configurations from one profile

Same aluminium body, three optical outcomes. From soft diffuse line (Mode A) to premium anti-glare (Mode B). The YD-2565 shares this triple optical configuration with the larger YD-2575 — so the same accessory SKUs cover both profiles.

Two mounting modes — surface or magnetic

The YD-2565 ships ready for both modes. On ferrous metal surfaces, the built-in N/S magnet strip does the work. On non-ferrous surfaces, use the supplied plastic clips for surface mounting.

What LED source does the YD-2565 accept?

Two distinct modes: (a) flexible COB / SMD tape up to 4.7 mm wide for the standard PC diffuser (Clear / Frosted / Opal); (b) CSP1208 rigid LED strip, 100 mm length, 14 beads per segment, for the reflector-cup / lens / black-cover options. The two modes cannot be mixed on the same cup — flexible strip does not fit the cup/lens/cover accessories.

How does magnetic mounting work on the YD-2565?

The YD-2565 has an N/S neodymium magnet strip built into a separate lower cavity of the aluminium profile, thermally isolated from the LED channel. How do I choose between YD-2565 and YD-2575?

YD-2575 is the advanced option — 8.6 × 7.3 mm, three mounting modes (surface / wall-lamp / 180° adjustable rotation), best for permanent architectural lighting where the beam direction needs to be aimed after installation. YD-2565 is the entry-level option — 7 × 8 mm, surface + magnetic mounting, best for fast installation, removable fixtures and rental / exhibition / seasonal display. Both share the same triple optical configuration (PC diffuser / reflector cup + lens / reflector cup + black cover) and 100 mm modular accessories.

Will the magnetic strip affect LED cooling?

No. The N/S neodymium magnet strip sits in a dedicated lower cavity of the aluminium profile, physically separated from the LED channel above. Heat from the LED tape is conducted through the aluminium body, not through the magnet. LED lifetime and lumen maintenance are the same as the non-magnetic surface-mounted version.

Minimum cut length and tolerance?

Cut to any length; standard tolerance ±0.5 mm. Tighter tolerances available on request.

Is the magnetic hold strong enough — will the profile fall off?

Each 100 mm magnet segment provides approximately 2.5 kg of vertical pull on a clean steel surface. A 1 m section of YD-2565 with LED and diffuser fitted weighs roughly 100–120 g — so the magnetic hold exceeds the profile's own weight by more than 20×. Vertical drop, vibration and casual contact will not dislodge it.
